What is RankSignal?
AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are increasingly used to research brands, people, and products. What they say matters – but until now there has been no way to track it.
RankSignal.ai solves this by querying five leading AI models with structured prompts and turning their responses into an easy-to-read report with an overall Signal Score.
What is the Signal Score?
The Signal Score is a number from 0 to 100 that summarises how well-known and positively perceived an entity is across AI models. It is the average of five rank signals: Visibility, Sentiment, Consistency, Authority, and Risk.
- 80–100: Strong, well-known reputation across AI models.
- 50–79: Recognised but with room for improvement.
- 0–49: Limited visibility or mixed signals in AI responses.
What are the 5 rank signals?
Each scan measures your brand across five dimensions:
- Visibility – How often and prominently AI models mention you in relevant answers.
- Sentiment – The overall tone and emotional framing when AI models describe you.
- Consistency – How aligned the different AI models are when describing your brand.
- Authority – How authoritative and well-sourced the information AI models cite about you is.
- Risk – Potential reputation risks, misinformation, or negative claims detected. A lower score means more risk.
Each signal is scored 0–100 and your Signal Score is the average of all five.
Which AI models are used?
Every scan queries these five models in parallel:
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) – the most widely used AI assistant.
- Claude (Anthropic) – known for nuanced, careful reasoning.
- Perplexity – AI search engine with web-grounded answers.
- Gemini (Google) – integrated with Google's knowledge graph.
- Grok (xAI) – real-time focus with access to current information.
How does a scan work?
- Enter a name – type a brand, person, or organisation, optionally with a website URL.
- We query all five models – RankSignal sends a structured prompt to each AI model at the same time.
- Responses are analysed – each response is parsed into five rank signals (Visibility, Sentiment, Consistency, Authority, Risk), evidence, sources, and model-specific insights.
- You get your report – results are aggregated into a single report with the 5 rank signals, competitor comparison, evidence, recommended actions, and per-model breakdowns.
A free scan uses one model (ChatGPT). A full scan uses all five.
What's in a scan report?
- The 5 rank signals – clickable signal cards showing Visibility, Sentiment, Consistency, Authority, and Risk scores with details.
- Competitor comparison – entities that AI models associate as competitors or alternatives, with the option to scan them.
- Top claims driving AI answers – the most common statements AI models make about you, with sentiment and coverage.
- What each model says – how each of the five AI models individually scores and describes you, with quotes and unique perspectives.
- Sources – where AI models get their data about you, including source mix breakdown, content gaps with actionable guidance, and source gap analysis vs. competitors (Pro).
- Recommended actions – prioritised steps to improve each rank signal, classified as content or source gaps, with impact ratings.
- AI brand signal FAQ – answers to common questions about the Signal Score, AI mentions, risk flags, and how to influence what AI says about you.

Weekly rescans
Pro subscribers get automatic rescans every Monday at 03:00 UTC. RankSignal re-queries all five AI models for each entity you monitor. At 04:00 UTC you receive a digest email highlighting any score changes since the previous week.
This lets you track how your AI brand signal evolves over time without lifting a finger.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Only the entity name and optional domain are sent to AI providers – no personal user data is shared. Authentication is handled by Supabase, payments by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant), and all traffic is encrypted with TLS.
